Same goes for the shift knob. The metal mesh part is fine, but there's also chrome painted plastic on both the brake and the knob, and with time and heat, the chrome coating on the plastic peels and chips. The shiftknob also has an extremely annoying rattle between it's many pieces which has developed with time. I purchased the set because my stock ones were torn up and I had credit to use for some work I did at a car show. I will be going back to stock shortly.
